✦ Human Sky
A letter to your future self

Write a letter to your future self

Write to who you will be in three months, a year or five years. Your words stay sealed until the day you choose — and when you come back, they are the first thing you see.

How it works

  1. Write. One sentence is enough. No account, no email, no profile.
  2. Choose the day. In 3 months, in a year, in 5 years, on your birthday, on December 31 — or any date you like.
  3. It is sealed. The letter is encrypted on your device before it is stored. Until that day nobody can read it — not even us.
  4. Come back. Add the calendar reminder the site offers. Open Human Sky on that day or later, on the same device or with your My Sky key, and the letter opens first.

Not sure where to start?

  • What do you want to remind yourself of when things get hard?
  • Who do you not want to lose this year?
  • What are you proud of, even if nobody noticed?
  • What are you quietly promising yourself?
  • What do you hope has changed by then?

What it can sound like

Hi. If you are reading this, you made it through the winter. I hope you still call your sister on Sundays. And I hope you finally stopped apologising for taking up space. An example — not a real letter

Honest notes

Human Sky is free. There are no likes, feeds or followers. We do not send emails or push notifications, which is why the site offers a calendar reminder instead: the reminder holds only the date and a link, never your words. If you change phones, keep a copy of your My Sky key — without it a sealed letter cannot be opened.

Questions

Is it really private?

Yes. The letter is encrypted on your device before it is stored, and it stays closed until the date you chose. Human Sky cannot read it.

Is it free?

Yes. Writing, sealing and opening letters is free. Money never buys a place in the sky.

Will I get an email when it opens?

No. Human Sky does not collect emails. Add the calendar reminder when you seal the letter, then open the site on that day.

What if I lose my phone?

Save your My Sky key (the site offers a copy). With it you can restore access on another device.

Can I write to someone else instead?

Yes. Choose “For one person” and set an opening date — they receive a private link that opens on that day.
